Historically, a pocket referred to a pouch worn around the waist by women in the 17th to 19th centuries. In these pockets, women would carry items needed in their daily lives, such as scissors, pins, needles and keys. This sampler was inspired by an antique.
Pattern includes cross-stitch, back-stitch and smyrna cross.
The model was stitched on 36 ct Stone Grey Edinburgh Linen using Soie d'alger Noir.
Stitch count is 58 w x 115 h. Bi-fold booklet including finishing instructions for the pocket.
